UNCHARTED: LOST LEGACY REVIEW

Chloe Frazier and Nadine Ross' character development

‘Uncharted: Lost Legacy’ is the fifth part of the Uncharted Video Game series. For the first time, Nathan Drake is no longer the main character following his final part ‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’. Nathan’s brother, Sam Drake makes a short appearance in the game, but Nadine Ross and Chloe Frazer come from the side-lines to present gamers a game that is led by two females of colour. Sliva (2018) stated “I really loved the fact that Naughty Dog took these two side characters from past games and put them front and center”. ‘Uncharted: Lost Legacy’ is the fifth game but it is not titled as Uncharted 5, it seems to be more of a demo, however, it would be good to see more of Nadine and Chloe if there was potential for an Uncharted 5 to be released (Henderson, 2017.)

The duo was an unlikely pair but as soon as they were seen on screen together, gamers could not get enough, Concepcion (2017) stated “After playing through The Lost Legacy, it's hard to imagine a better Drake-less pairing than the treasure hunter Chloe Frazer and ex-mercenary Nadine Ross.” Not only did the game do well making the game mixed-race, led by powerful women, but the banter between both characters is enjoyable to watch. Loveridge (2017) stated that as you continue playing the game, you see the way Chloe and Nadine start to get used to each other and becoming closer, its one of the main focuses of the game. Though the game is known to be too short, the relationship that forms between the heroines is worth it. Circling back to Sliva (2017) he stated that the antagonist of the game doesn’t seem add depth to the game. It is more enjoyable to see both heroines gain character development.
